Responding officers found multiple gunshot victims at Brookline Park on Meade Street around 7:45 p.m., Reading Police Chief Richard Tornielli said at a press conference Tuesday morning.

Amiere T. Bibbs, 18, died at the scene, the chief said.

Three of the victims were taken to a local hospital, where they are expected to survive, police said.

Police believe a group of people between the ages of 16 and 18 were fighting in the park when gunshots were fired.

The group of teens are students in the Governor Mifflin School District, officials said on Facebook.

"Out of an abundance of caution, we have switched the secondary students to virtual learning today," Superintendent William McCay said.

"The high school and middle school are open for grief counseling support."

The identities of the surviving victims have not yet been revealed, and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to contact the Reading Police Criminal Investigations Division at 610 -655-6246 or Crime Alert Berks County 877 -373-9913.
